Vision & Beliefs

Our Church Statement of Faith:

Delhi International Christian Fellowship: an international, interdenominational, expatriate church.

Vision & Beliefs:

Our Church Purpose:

Delhi International Christian Fellowship exists to make more disciples for Jesus Christ.

To make more disciples, We:

  • Teach and preach the Bible as the word of God;Welcome everyone who attends our services and programs;
  • Nurture new believers
  • Aspire to educational and fellowship programs that meet the maturity levels of each of our members;
  • Provide pastoral care for the international diplomatic and business communities;
  • Identify and develop the spiritual gifts of those in the congregation.

To extend Christ’s Kingdom, We:

  • Communicate the truth about Jesus Christ within the expatriate community in New Delhi;
  • Support both financially and prayerfully other social efforts.
  • Interact with other Christians in the National Capital Region.

Our Church Values:

  • God-centered: DICF exists for God. In every person and program, God is first, God is experienced, and God is to be pleased.

  • Bible-based: DICF lives by the Bible. Bible teaching permeates every program because we want to know and understand God's Word. The Bible is to be lived out in our lives because we believe the Bible is God's word for what we believe and do.

  • Outreach-oriented: DICF looks outward to serve the broader expatriate community in order to offer them a place in Christ’s church and show them the love of Jesus Christ. When a choice is made between serving needs of us inside our church or reaching out to others, we are committed in advance toward ministry to outsiders.

  • Disciple-making: Christians are disciples - believers who are learning and changing to be more like Jesus. Disciple-making is happening when DCIFers live Christianly, especially under stress, and especially in demonstrating Christian love in relationships with others.

  • Kingdom-building: The kingdom of Jesus Christ is far greater than any local church or denomination. It includes loyal followers of Jesus all over the world. We are serious about building the Kingdom. We will do what we can within our local context and the restraints of the authorities over us, to help God build His Kingdom worldwide.

  • Future-looking: Vision at DICF is in the future tense because we are future-looking. We know that faith pleases God and faith is always forward. Our faith for the future is generated by trust in Jesus Christ.

Our Church Strategies:

  • Put God first in everything. We will seek through worship, prayer, teaching, our church community, and concern for others to glorify God in all that we do.

  • It is our intention to enhance God’s reputation (Help people think of God in better terms) by:
    • Our personal commitment to Him.
    • Our love for each other.
    • Our thoughtfulness and compassion for others.
    • Excellence in our programs, services, teachings, and publications
    • Managing our resources with the highest standards of integrity, transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness.

  • Reach out by equipping believers to share their faith and provide ministries that bring expatriates to faith in Jesus Christ.

  • Help Christians grow and experience spiritual transformation as they learn and apply God's truth to their lives.

  • Organize for effectiveness by providing structures, resources, and leadership to encourage high-quality volunteer-led ministry. Bless others through sharing God's goodness to us by, pursuing ministries of compassion and helping others fully experience God's grace even if they are not or cannot become part of our church.

  • Excellence through doing our best with the resources we have. Quality and excellence should permeate everything we do, print, and produce. There are quality publications and programs all around us in our international community. We will draw more people to our church if what we produce is of excellent quality.

  • Relevant and meaningful in every area of our church and ministry life. It is a sin to bore a person with the Gospel, when God makes it so exciting. We want people to come to our programs and productions and find something of value, even if they know little or nothing about Jesus Christ. We will work hard at relevance. We never want anyone to leave this church because we have not touched them in some way

  • We believe that our church is and will continue to have an extraordinary impact on the international expatriate community in the region of New Delhi, the country of India, the region of Asia, and around the world.

Our Church Statement of Faith:

THE BIBLE - is the inspired word of God and is the basis for any statement of faith and doctrine. It is our only authority in all matters of faith and practice and is the basis of the following statement of belief.

THE TRINITY - we believe that there is one God. infinite and eternally self-existent, in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

JESUS CHRIST - we believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. He is fully God and fully man. He exists eternally with the Father, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and was crucified and buried. He was resurrected bodily on the third day, appeared to His followers, and ascended into Heaven where He is seated at the right hand of the Father. We believe that He will one day return physically to the earth and every knee shall bow to Him and every tongue confess that He is Lord.

THE HOLY SPIRIT - we believe that the Holy Spirit is co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son. He indwells every believer at the moment of salvation and ministers through them as they yield themselves to Go.

SALVATION - we believe all people are sinners and therefore justly deserve God's condemnation. The atoning death of Jesus is God's provision for our salvation, and eternal life is received by personal faith in Jesus Christ

THE RESURRECTION AND FUTURE JUDGMENT - we believe in the bodily resurrection of all the dead, of the believer to everlasting life and fellowship with God, and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting condemnation

THE CHRISTIAN LIFE - we believe that believers ought to conduct themselves so as to honor God and be a consistent testimony of their new life in Christ. They are to obey the commands of Christ and His Word.

THE CHURCH - we believe the church is composed of ail who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The Fellowship is a congregation of believers united by a covenant of faith and the fellowship of the Gospel.

THE LORD'S SUPPER - in the ordinance of the Lord's Supper administered by the Fellowship, the believer partakes of the bread and wine in a manner consistent with Christ's commandments in the Gospels. The Lord's Supper shall be a special time of self examination.
